Andrzej Lachowicz
(ur. 1939)

Education: Public Academy of Plastic Arts in Wroclaw. Graduated in 1965. In 1978-1995 – the commissioner of International Drawing Triennale in Wroclaw. Co-founder of neo avant-garde group and gallery „Permafo”, created in 1970. (together with Natalia LL and Zbigniew Dlubak. Activity of the group represented one of the trends of Polish fotomedializm)
He deals with photography, graphics, drawing and art theory. The most famous of his works are series „Topologie” [Topologies] and „Cienie” [Shadows].
During the exhibition „Wokół Dekady”. Fotografia Polska lat 70. [Around the decade. Polish Photography of the 1970s] in 2002 he presented, among others, series of still lives „Wrocław 24.06.1997” [Wroclaw 24.06.1997], „Poranek w pracowni” [Morning in the studio] – He made an artistic effort to present the shape of his own existence, close to the state of melancholy – fighting with adversities and illness. His works can be found in collections of Art Museum in Lodz and National Museum in Wroclaw among others.
