Janusz Kokot (born 1960)
„Uganda, Uganda“
Studied at School pf Plastic Arts in Czestochowa. He practises painting, drawing and graphics. Author of 13 individual exhibitions in Poland, Netherlands, Germany, Sweden and Norway. A prize-winner of 11 awards in Polish contests.
The photographs from „Uganda, Uganda” series were taken during two trips to Uganda in 2007 and 2008. For over 4 months the artist worked as a volunteer in an orphanage run by Erick and Suzanne Mumford in the suburbs of Kampala, and the photographs were taken as if by accident.Using the camera like a sketchbook, Kokot created autonomous compositions referring to graphic and painting techniques.
